Under advice from a local wildlife charity, a road in Lincolnshire, England, is to be closed for a month so that toads can cross safely to reach their breeding grounds. With females travelling on their male counterpart’s backs, carnage on the busy road in the past has been doubly as damaging to local fauna, though volunteers hope this measure will protect the current and the next generations of pond life.
