A morpho peleides butterfly lays its eggs, while two ants surround one, in Butterfly Garden in La Guacima, Costa Rica. According to the owner Joris Brinkerhoff, who is from the US and has more than 29-years of experience dedicated to the export of butterfly cocoons, more than 80,000 cocoons of butterflies, of 70 different species, are exported every month from Costa Rica to Europe, Asia, Canada, Mexico and the United States, with prices of the cocoons ranging from $3 to $10 each.
