The trial of Iskandar Rahmat, the police officer accused of the Kovan double murder, will probably take place after March next year.

According to defence lawyers, a large number of court exhibits have been sent for DNA analysis and the analysis is expected to be completed only in March 2014.

Iskandar, who has been assessed to be of sound mind and fit to plead, will return to court for another pre-trial conference on January 21 next year. If convicted, Iskandar faces the death penalty.

Tan Boon Sin, 66, and Tan Chee Heong, 42, a father-and-son pair, were found murdered 1km apart in Kovan on July 10, with a blood trail linking their bodies.

The elder Tan was found dead in the living room of his terrace house at 14J Hillside Drive, while his son's body was dragged from the house to a taxi stand outside Kovan MRT station.

Based on eyewitness accounts, we piece together what transpired that afternoon.
