The prosecution continued to cast doubt on ex-CNB chief Ng Boon Gay’s credibility on his fifth morning on the stand, as they drew comparisons between the allegedly different statements he gave in court and to the CPIB earlier.

Ng’s lawyer argued that he did not see any contradictions in both sets of evidence while Ng maintained that there was no conflict of interest when he approved the IT projects in his three-year extra-marital affair with Cecilia Sue.

It was also revealed that both Ng and Sue had said several times in their earlier CPIB statements that they were in an "intimate relationship".

Local media also quoted the former top cop as saying that he didn’t know his “part-time lover” as someone who "would give sex just because a person is an important client".

She "would never do such a thing for such a purpose," the 46-year-old said, when the defence suggested Sue had performed oral sex on him for work-related favours.

The defence's final witness was Oracle’s Human Resources director Sharon Yan, who had interviewed Sue on her relationship with Ng for the IT giant's internal investigations on June 12, after the latter was publicly identified to be involved.
