Pet taxidermist will preserve Fido or Fluffy forever
A Missouri-based taxidermist has stopped stuffing deer heads and pheasants to turn his attention to a more domestic pursuit: preserving dead pets. Anthony Eddy specializes in pet taxidermy, freeze-drying and preserving everything from dogs and cats to iguanas and guinea pigs, a process that can take more than a year and cost thousands of dollars. "I could stare at an urn, or I could stare at the ground in the cemetery, or I could hold her or pet her," one client said after having her fox terrier preserved. It might sound like a downer for pet owners, but Eddy's business is booming: He says he receives two to three pets every week and currently has a two-month waiting list
