The former Italian prime minister, who has faced criminal charges for paying an underage girl for sexual services, was one the most macho leaders in modern European history. He is famously politically incorrect, once telling traders on the New York Stock Exchange to invest in Italy because, "we have the most beautiful secretaries in the world." He also claimed to have had to "dust off his playboy charms" during negotiations with the female president of Finland. In the run-up to the 2008 election he said that female politicians from the right were more beautiful and that the left had "no taste - even in women".

To add to sexism and the alleged use of prostitutes, we can add Berlusconi's famous 'bunga bunga' parties with their alleged after-dinner sex games. Oh, and to up the macho ante further, he owns AC Milan, one of the most successful football clubs in Europe.
