All MPs of PAP must uphold high standards of conduct: PM Lee

Commenting on Michael Palmer’s resignation in a Facebook posting after the press conference, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong stressed that all MPs and grassroots advisors must uphold high standards of propriety and personal conduct.

Releasing the exchange of letters between himself and Palmer, Mr Lee said it was with great sadness that he accepted the resignation of Palmer, who had worked diligently as an MP and as Speaker, and also won the respect of Ministers and backbenchers.

Mr Lee added that he is glad that Palmer had been forthright in acknowledging his mistake, and also asked for Singaporeans to give him and his family peace and privacy to rebuild their lives.
