The idiot-proof guide to the Alex Au-AIM saga
The Prime Minister's call for investigation is the latest in a string of confusing statements and numbers about a town council and a computer management system -- we break it down and make it simple so you don't have to.
Sylvia Lim: Why were systems outsourced?
Countering Dr Teo and Mr Chandra Das' media statements, AHTC chairman Sylvia Lim accused AIM and the PAP of not serving public interest if town council systems could be sold to a political party-affiliated business that can back out if the town council is managed by someone else.
Ms Lim compared outsourcing a system funded by taxpayers' money as being at the "mercy of a third party" who could take the system away when it sees fit. She stressed the need for greater awareness of the issue as "residents all over Singapore have a right to know".
