We look back at a tumultuous year for Southeast Asia. Floodwaters inundated the streets of Jakarta and Manila, and typhoon Haiyan devastated the Philippine town of Tacloban. Protestors thronged the streets of Bangkok and migrant workers torched vehicles and overturned police cars in Singapore - it's first riot in more than 40 years. Elections were held in Singapore, Malaysia and the Philippines before a hazardous haze blanketed the Malay Peninsula. Vietnam and Thailand mourned the deaths of two revered personalities - one a general, the other, a monk.

In this photo released by Presidential Secretariat, Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, center, talks with Foreign Minister Marty Natalegawa, left, as they inspect the flooded palace in Jakarta, Indonesia on  January 17. Flooding caused by monsoon rains have forced thousands of people to flee their homes in Indonesia's capital.
