20 Chinese bus drivers from the afternoon shift did not report for work.

Executive Secretary of the National Transport Workers Union (NTWU), Mr Ong Chin Ang, commented that the unionists have communicated with the drivers and advised them on the laws in Singapore.

The unionists have also advised the drivers to return to work to avoid causing inconvenience to the commuting public. He had also encouraged the Chinese drivers to join the union as members so that the union would be able help them.

Two representatives from the Chinese Embassy in Singapore arrived at Woodlands dormitory.

4pm: SMRT completed the body-check for the Chinese drivers that had reported sick for work.
