November 27: Second day of drivers’ no-show
88 Chinese drivers still refuse to turn up for work. A mobile clinic was set up to determine the validity of medical reasons when SMRT discovered many of them reported sick for work.
SMRT stressed that they would continue to engage all Chinese drivers and advise them to make use of the proper methods for the discussion of workplace matters.
The drivers were not satisfied with an increment of S$25 on their monthly salary. They wanted an equal wage system (as the Malaysian drivers) with more bonuses and incentives.
