Young NTUC to spur youth to show appreciation for low-wage workers

Young NTUC to spur youth to show appreciation for low-wage workers

Young NTUC is calling on young people to be proactive in showing respect and appreciation for workers, especially those in the cleaning, security and landscape sectors.

To do this, the youth wing of the Labour Movement has invited workers from the three sectors to be its guests of honour at its annual Young NTUC Celebrates! National Day event,
or YNCND, on the 9th of August.

It's part of the larger Appreciating U movement, which aims to cultivate a spirit of kindness towards the workers who are Singapore's unsung heroes.

As part of this movement, Young NTUC will hold a pick-up-after-yourself initiative.

Members will be encouraged to clean up the Promontory, where the YNCND will be held.

Young NTUC members will also write words of appreciation to low-wage workers as an act of respect.

Young NTUC represents working adults aged 35 and below.

It has over 180,000 members, making it the largest youth movement in Singapore.
