Mr Png Eng Huat of The Workers' Party collected one set of nomination papers at the Elections Department at about 2pm on Friday.
Mr Png, who's Member of Parliament for Hougang, was accompanied by Ms Ng Swee Bee, the party's Organising Secretary and Deputy Chairman of the Aljunied Constituency Committee.
When asked by reporters who the party will be fielding in the by-election in Punggol East, both of them replied that the party will reveal who it has in mind in a few days.
Mr Png also declined to comment on the Singapore Democratic Party's request to discuss the by-election, set for January 26.
Mr Kenneth Jeyaretnam of the Reform Party was also at the Elections Department on Friday afternoon to submit his application for a Political Donation Certificate.
He said he collected the nomination forms on Thursday.
He told reporters that he will be the candidate if the Reform Party decides to contest.
He added that he's in talks with The Workers' Party but didn't give details.
Former Singapore People's Party (SPP) member, Mohamad Hamim Aliyas, said he collected one set of nomination forms for another former member of the party, Mr Benjamin Pwee.
He told reporters that Mr Pwee is now in Hong Kong.
