WP says immigration should not be an easy way out
Workers' Party Chief Low Thia Kiang has called on the government to stop using immigration as the easy way out.
Mr Low said doing so would mean kicking the can of economic restructuring down the road.
Joining the debate on the White Paper on Population and Land Use Policy, Mr Low said immigration is the cause of today's problems.
Instead, Mr Low said he believes the WP's proposal of raising the labour force participation rate among Singaporean women and seniors, is more sustainable.
Mr Low objected to the White Paper and Land Use Policy.
