WP’s Sylvia Lim, Low Thia Khiang keep key CEC posts

SINGAPORE: The Workers’ Party held its elections for the Central Executive Council (CEC) on Sunday.

Ms Sylvia Lim and Mr Low Thia Khiang have retained the key posts.

The party said in a post on its facebook page that Ms Lim remains as Chairman while Mr Low is the Secretary—General.

The other 13 members of the CEC include the party’s Members of Parliament (MP) — Mr Chen Show Mao, Mr Pritam Singh, Mr Muhamad Faisal Abdul Manap and Mr Png Eng Huat.

Non—constituency MPs Mr Yee Jenn Jong and Mr Gerald Giam are in the CEC.

The previous Workers’ Party CEC had 14 members, excluding the Chairman and Secretary—General.

A check of the party’s website showed that Dr John Yam Poh Nam, an engineer, is not part of the CEC this time round.

The following 13 members were elected to the Central Executive Council:

3. Mr Gerald Giam Yean Song

4. Mr Muhamad Faisal Abdul Manap

5. Ms Glenda Han Su May

6. Mr Koh Choong Yong

7. Ms Lee Li Lian

8. Ms Jane Leong

9. Ms Ng Swee Bee

10. Mr Png Eng Huat

11. Mr Mohammed Rahizan Yaacob

12. Mr Pritam Singh

13. Mr Yee Jenn Jong
