SINGAPORE: German State Secretary for Defence Rdiger Wolf called on Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen on Thursday.

The Ministry of Defence (MINDEF)said Mr Wolf’s visit underscores the warm and growing defence relationship between Singapore and Germany.

MINDEF added that since the conclusion of a bilateral Defence Cooperation Agreement in September 2005, both countries interact regularly through high—level defence visits, military courses, exercises and professional exchanges, as well as defence technology cooperation.

On Wednesday, Mr Wolf and Permanent Secretary for Defence Chiang Chie Foo co—chaired the 7th Singapore—Germany Defence Policy Dialogue (DPD).

Since its inception in 2004, the DPD has matured into a regular platform for both countries to exchange views on strategic issues of mutual interest and discuss bilateral defence cooperation.
