SINGAPORE: Residents of Bishan East can now enjoy new facilities and programmes at six newly-renovated Residents' Committee (RC) centres.
Member of Parliament for Bishan-Toa Payoh GRC Wong Kan Seng graced the official opening of the upgraded centres on Saturday.
Residents too were invited to get their first look.
The centres had undergone a major renovation from last December.
On Saturday’s open house, they were introduced to a wide range of new courses, activities and interest groups at the RCs.
Mr Wong said: “We decided to upgrade facilities to make it more useful for our residents to make good use of the RC. They will conduct classes and they will organise activities and residents can also use the place to have birthday parties, to bring their families, bring their friends and neighbours together so that they can build bonds among themselves and get to know the community better." - CNA/xq
