SINGAPORE: Two of the five victims involved in the lorry crash at Tanah Merah on Tuesday morning are out of intensive care (ICU) at the Changi General Hospital.

The two have been transferred to the general ward, and are currently in stable condition.

Channel NewsAsia understands that Mr Natarajan underwent a surgery due to abdominal bleeding.

His left leg was fractured, and he sustained injuries on his face and chest.

Mr Ganesan’s leg was also fractured.

He suffers from internal bleeding through a ruptured spleen.

To cope with the pain, he is currently on morphine drips.

Visits from other co—workers have been a source of relief for the two patients, who have been mostly unconscious since their transfer from the ICU.

Besides the five victims in ICU, the crash had taken the life of 19—year—old Indian national Kathiravan.

His co—workers have put together a sum of S$14,000 for his grieving family.

Some workers were willing to fork out as much as S$300 to the fund.
