Two cars catch fire in downtown Singapore

SINGAPORE: A car travelling along Victoria Street caught fire on Monday (Sep 1) morning. No one was injured in the fire, said the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF).

SCDF said it was alerted to the fire at 8.13am, and dispatched two fire bikes, a red rhino and a fire engine to the scene. The fire was extinguished using a water jet.

Another vehicle fire was reported later that day along Havelock Road. Deo Virtucio, sent in this picture of a smoking car, snapped after he heard a loud bang and went to take a look.

SCDF was notified of the fire at 1.28pm. No one was injured and the fire was extinguished with one water jet. - CNA/do
