Tri-party collaboration to set up Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) Lab
A lab which looks into improving Singapore's transport system has been set up.
The Intelligent Transport Systems or ITS lab, will study as well as conduct trials on a range of technologies aimed at improving the safety, efficiency, and performance of the transport systems here.
It's a collaboration between automotive supplier, Continental, A*STAR's Institute for Infocomm Research and the Technical University of Munich.
The initiative is supported by the Singapore Economic Development Board.
The lab will be located at A*STAR's Institute for Infocomm Research laboratories in One-North.
Travel demand is expected to increase from 12.5 million journeys per day now to about 18.8 million journeys per day by 2030.
