SINGAPORE: Rail operator SBS Transit said train services on the Downtown Line, which were disrupted at 9.50am on Friday due to a power fault, have resumed.

Free bus rides were activated at designated bus stops near all the affected stations.

The Downtown Line is Singapore's fifth MRT line.

It spans some 4.3 kilometres and stops along six stations - Chinatown, Telok Ayer, Downtown, Bayfront, Promenade and Bugis.

The MRT line was opened on December 21.  - CNA/xq
