Tonga PM called on PM Lee
The Prime Minister of Tonga, Lord Tu'ivakano, called on Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong this morning at the Istana.
A statement from Singapore's Foreign Affairs Ministry says that during their meeting, Prime Minister Lee and Prime Minister Tu'ivakano reaffirmed the warm relations between Singapore and Tonga and discussed developments in the South Pacific region.
Prime Minister Lee also encouraged increased participation by Tonga in the Singapore Cooperation Programme.
Prime Minister Tu'ivakano was also hosted to lunch by Minister in the Prime Minister's Office, and Second Minister for Foreign Affairs Grace Fu.
Prime Minister Tu'ivakano is in Singapore until Thursday at the invitation of the United Nations Development Programme Global Centre for Public Service Excellence.
