SINGAPORE: Three roadshows have been lined up to provide race action on and off the track, in the leadup to the SingTel Singapore Grand Prix in September.
SingTel has teamed up with race promoter, Singapore GP, to present the roadshows.
The first roadshow will be held at Bishan Open Green on July 7 and 8. It will be followed by another roadshow at Jurong Central Park on July 21 and 22. The third roadshow will be held at East Coast Park on September 1 and 2.
For the first time in go—kart history in Singapore, the roadshows will feature electric go—karts, which run on batteries instead of petrol, for a safer, quieter and more environmentally—friendly experience.
The public can take part in a five—lap, time—based race and stand to win a chance to meet the Formula 1 drivers.
Nine finalists will win a pair of Grandstand tickets to catch the Singapore Grand Prix, which will be held from September 21 to 23.
The final roadshow at East Coast Park will feature several entertaining acts. Singaporeans will get to play judge and cast their votes for the SingTel Grid Girls.
SingTel will also be unveiling a new F1 trophy, which is a woven pattern made up of stylised diamond shapes.
