Ten eco-warriors were recognised at the Clean and Green Singapore carnival today.

The carnival marks the start of a year-long environmental campaign.

This year's theme, like last year's, is Every Action Counts.

It's a call, urging people to safeguard the environment, conserve resources and do their part for the community.

The carnival in Serangoon is jointly organised by the Ministry of Environment and Water Resources, National Environment Agency, South East Community Development Council, National Parks Board and Public Utilities Board.

Guest-of-Honour, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong presented a hundred and six environmental awards to grassroots leaders and cleaners.
