Support Schemes for pre-school operators
Minister for Social and Family Development Chan Chun Sing has launched a suite of support schemes to provide infrastructure support to pre-school operators setting up centres in high demand areas and at workplaces.
The Infrastructure Support Schemes are estimated to cost up to 40 million dollars over the next five years.
It's designed to benefit non-Anchor Operators by defraying infrastructure costs.
In addition, all non-Anchor Operators who provide quality and affordable programmes may benefit from a new Teaching & Learning Resources Grant of up to 4,000 dollars per year for materials and equipment that support children's holistic development.
They will also be able to tap on the Early Childhood Development Agency's Training Award Scheme for their manpower needs.
As general eligibility criteria for the above Support Schemes, non-Anchor Operators will have to commit to quality improvements via the Singapore Pre-school Accreditation Framework process and offer affordable programmes.
