SINGAPORE: Wake Fest 2012 made a splash over the weekend at the Bedok Reservoir — returning after a three—year absence.

The wakeboarding event saw 72 competitors from six countries showcasing their skills.

In the finals on Sunday, four female wakeboarders battled for top honours.

Korea’s Yun Heehyun, who is just 12 years old, was the eventual winner with her technical tricks.

The men’s category saw stiffer competition, with eight contestants vying for the title.

It was another Korean who won the judges’ vote.

Twenty—two—year—old Ji Hoon, the current Korean national champ, scored with his more difficult moves.

With some 3,000 supporters catching the action, organisers said the event is definitely on next year too.
