Singapore's manufacturing output grew a lower than expected four per cent in November, dragged down by the biomedical cluster.

The Economic Development Board, EDB, says the cluster's output contracted 2.1 per cent.

On a year-to-date basis, output of the biomedical manufacturing cluster increased 1.7 per cent, compared to the same period a year ago.

On the other hand, the electronics cluster's output expanded 11 per cent.

Cumulatively, output of the electronics cluster rose 1.8 per cent from January to November this year, compared to the same period last year.

Output of the transport engineering, general manufacturing and precision engineering clusters rose, while the chemical cluster's output fell in November.
