S'pore to take part in RIMPAC exercise
People’s Liberation Army (Navy), Republic of Singapore Navy and United States Navy officers interact
Singapore's taking part in a Multinational Group Sail from Guam to Hawaii with eight warships from the navies of Brunei, China and the United States.
Singapore's Defence Ministry says en route, the navies conducted various manoeuvres.
The ships will then take part in the US-hosted multilateral Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) five-day naval exercise off the coast of Hawaii from Thursday.
MinDef says these interactions, in addition to personnel exchanges across the participating ships, have enhanced professional understanding among the four navies.
