S'pore PE industry to benefit from launch fo two joint labs
Singapore's precision engineering industry will benefit from the launch of two joint labs which aim to boost R&D in manufacturing and support the local industry needs.
The Singapore Institute of Manufacturing Technology, an A*STAR research institute, and the Faculty of Engineering at NUS, inked an agreement today to launch two labs.
They said that the labs will help move the industry into high value0added manufacturing.
They will also serve as platforms to nurture R&D manpower for industry, transforming them into centres of excellence in their respective technical areas to benefit more industry sectors.
Technologies developed by the labs will benefit the complex equipment, aerospace, and marine & offshore clusters.
Twenty PhD scholarships will be provided to develop R&D talent for manufacturing research conducted in the Joint Labs.
