For the second year running, the national broadcasters of Singapore and Indonesia will collaborate on a co-production that promises pomp and dynamism.
Called Fiesta Muzik 2012, its jointly produced by MediaCorp and Televisi Republik Indonesia (TVRI).
2011 saw the inaugural Fiesta Muzik take centrestage in Singapore.
This time round it is Indonesia's turn to host the two hour show.
Some twenty artistes from Singapore will be go to Indonesia for the programme.
The show will simulcast LIVE on MediaCorp's Suria and TVRI this Sunday at 8.30pm Singapore time and 7.30pm Jakarta time.
Fiesta Muzik falls under the auspices of an agreement ((the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Cooperation in the Field of Information and Communication)), which Singapore had signed with Indonesia in 2007.
MediaCorp's Deputy CEO, Chang Long Jong believes there will be a lot of exchanges between the two broadcasters in the long term.
"We are discussing areas that the two organisations can collaborate more in the areas of content, both markets are also looking at the digital plans in the coming years and there will be discussions on tenders, migration of technologies and so on, a lot of benefits will come out of such kinds of exchange and the experience that both countries have gone through to share with each other we are also hoping to see other areas of collaboration like in the areas of our other Malay drama content, our english content, that there will be more platforms that we can put on each others markets and have a wider audience."
