Sony targets PlayStation growth in network services drive
Sony aims to step up sales of its PlayStation 4 game console to drive growth in its network services such as streamed games and video.
Sales of the Japanese firm's network services jumped 70 per cent in the year to March to nearly US$2 billion.
It currently has 52 million active users, most of whom own PlayStations, which come packaged with online content services and apps to watch movies or listen to music on demand.
Sony's CEO Kazuo Hirai expects its network business to be a key growth driver for the group as a whole.
