SMRT Financial Assistance Scheme has provided $1 million worth of services

SMRT has donated another $200,000 to its Gift of Mobility Financial Assistance Scheme which aims to help the needy and less mobile.
Since the scheme started in 2008, the transport operator has donated more than a million dollars which in turn has helped more than 5,800 beneficiaries.
The money is used to cover taxi costs for medical appointments or consultations at hospitals, or for the beneficiaries to seek interim employment.
SMRT is working with 14 organisations, including public hospitals and Community Development Councils, to identify the needy individuals.
