Singapore's manufacturing output for June edges up 0.4% on-year: EDB
The Economic Development Board or EDB, says Singapore's manufacturing output edged up by 0.4 per cent in June, compared to the same period a year ago.
Data showed growth in all clusters except electronics and transport engineering.
Electronic output for June fell 4.8 per cent on-year.
Professor of Finance at SMU, Annie Koh says the decline in electronics has been an on-going trend for the past few months.
" Not unexpected, because essentially we are not quite in the space of electronic products, that are consumer-driven demand, coming from the iPad, iPhone area, so this is a sector that's probably not able to do very much in terms of its contribution to GDP.
