Singapore's Law Minister K Shanmugam comments on the Delhi gang-rape
Singapore's Law Minister K Shanmugam has said that the death of the Delhi gang-rape victim was heart breaking,
In his latest Facebook Page post,
Mr Shanmugam said many will agree that this is a type of case where, if the injuries inflicted were sufficient to cause death, then the abusers should face the death penalty.
He added he would often cite cases like this in discussions with people who want the death penalty abolished.
He also referred to an article by an Indian journalist in a local newspaper which said young women in Singapore can go about confidently at any time of the day and night, in spaghetti tops and shorts - a right which they should have, a right which society should protect.
