Singapore reaffirms commitment to ASEAN
SINGAPORE: Vietnam Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Luong Minh, who is on a three—day trip to Singapore, paid a courtesy call on Minister for Foreign Affairs and Law K Shanmugam on Saturday.
Mr Shanmugam reaffirmed Singapore’s commitment to ASEAN and exchanged views with Mr Minh on developments in ASEAN and the region.
He reiterated Singapore’s support for Deputy Minister Minh’s forthcoming appointment as ASEAN Secretary—General.
Mr Minh has been nominated by Vietnam for the post of ASEAN Secretary—General from 2013 to 2017.
The deputy minister is in Singapore from September 7 to 9.
