Singapore President Tony Tan Keng Yam calls for more cultural and student exchanges between Singapore and Indonesia
President Tony Tan Keng Yam has called for more cultural and student exchanges between Singapore and Indonesia to enhance bilateral people-to-people ties.
He said it's the young people that represent the true hope of the two neighbouring countries which have excellent relations covering broad areas.
He was speaking in Central Java on the final-leg of his 5-day state visit to Indonesia.
Dr Tan said more cultural exchanges between Singapore and Indonesia should be encouraged.
He said he hopes to see more interaction between Indonesian and Singapore students as it would create a better understanding between the peoples of the two countries.
