Singapore needs to build a sustainable population to remain vibrant: DPM Teo

Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean says that one of Singapore's big challenges for the future is building a sustainable population.

He emphasised the need for residents to remain united to overcome such challenges.

Mr Teo was speaking to some one thousand Pasir Ris residents at a National Day Observance Ceremony held at Elias Park Primary School.

Participants include members of the Pasir Ris West Grassroots Organisation, teachers and students from schools and kindergartens in the area.

Around 300 took part in a community parade, comprising contingents ranging from uniformed groups to senior citizens.
