Singapore July bank lending rises 1.3% from June

Business continues to be rosy for banks in Singapore. 

Total bank lending rose 1.3 percent last month, from June. 

Data from the central bank showed that bank lending activities came in at over $458 billion in July. 

On-year, bank lending grew 20 percent. 

Housing loans to consumers went up nearly 1.2 percent to nearly $141 billion.

Earlier, DBS and OCBC said they expect loans growth to be in the low- to mid-teens this year, as European banks cut their emerging markets exposure.
