Singapore inflation rate fell to 1.5% in December, averages 2.4% for 2013
Singapore's headline inflation rate fell further in December, mainly due to a drop in private transport costs.
The CPI-All Items inflation fell to 1.5 per cent from 2.6 per cent in November.
Private road transport cost fell by 2.8 per cent in December, on account of lower COE premiums.
Cost of accommodation rose by 2.9 per cent, as housing rentals edged up at a slower pace from a year ago.
Food inflation inched higher while services inflation was stable.
For the whole of 2013, CPI-All Items inflation averaged 2.4 per cent, sharply lower than the 4.6 per cent in 2012.
