Singapore hopes to benefit from making of new Star Wars films

SINGAPORE: Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong has said he hopes Singapore will benefit from the making of new Star Wars films.

In a Facebook post, Mr Lee said the country’s institutes are training students in interactive digital media.

Lucasfilm, the Star Wars franchise’s creator, has a Singapore complex at Fusionopolis in the one—north business park.

Disney recently bought Lucasfilm for US$4 billion, and said it would continue the franchise beyond the current six films.

And Mr Lee said he hopes part of the new movies will be produced in Singapore.
