Singapore economy will benefit from long-term principles in Population White Paper: SICC
The Singapore International Chamber of Commerce says the Singapore economy will benefit from the many long-term principles outlined in the Population White Paper.
In a statement, it pointed out that early planning to build the infrastructure for a growing population will help Singapore maintain its competitive edge.
It said that while attracting foreign talent has its sensitivities, it is not a "zero-sum game" that pits "locals against foreigners."
The Chamber believes that with a diversified workforce coupled with adequate infrastructure, Singapore is able to attract higher value-add investment.
And with more foreign investment, only then will there be more work and jobs for everyone.
It added that Singaporeans will ultimately benefit from the easing of foreign labour restrictions.
