Singapore Armed Forces Care Fund started for severely disabled servicemen
The Singapore Armed Forces has started a Care Fund for severely disabled servicemen.
Members of the public can contribute to the fund to show their support.
Through donations, the fund has amassed a million dollars in public contributions.
Defence Minister Ng Eng Hen revealed this as he gave an update on injured serviceman, Jason Chee, in a Facebook post.
Mr Chee, who lost his limbs in a horrific accident, is recovering and has been transferred to the General ward.
Dr Ng said the Care Fund will be over and above the military's existing compensation and welfare schemes.
