Singapore and Russia discuss expanding ties in social infrastructure & student exchanges

Singapore and Russia are taking their cooperation to a new level - by expanding it into more areas and deepening the scope of cooperation.

Among the areas being explored - sharing Singapore's experiences in social security like our Central Provident Fund, housing, and expanding ties between the universities of both countries.

These were some key outcomes of the Russia-Singapore Inter-Governmental Commission meeting.

It was chaired by the Deputy Prime Ministers of both countries - Mr Tharman Shanmugaratnam who is also the Finance Minister and Mr Igor Shvalov, Russia's First Deputy Prime Minister.

Ministers and top officials of both countries have met three times and Mr Tharman said this year's meetings have been the most productive.
