SINGAPORE: Singapore’s two largest healthcare clusters have clinched awards for innovation.

The awards, organised by the Singapore Infocomm Technology Federation (SiTF), recognise the best innovative IT applications or solutions with local content.

National Healthcare Group (NHG) and Integrated Health Information Systems (IHiS) won the SiTF Infocomm Productivity Bronze Award for the "Multi—Dose Medication Management system".

SingHealth and IHiS took home the SiTF Mobile Applications Bronze Award for "Health Buddy".

NHG Pharmacy’s "Multi—Dose Medication Management system" packs the various medicines the patient needs to take at prescribed times into single sachets.

The service benefits 3,100 patients at 16 Nursing Homes and the Institute of Mental Health. A pilot is underway to extend the service to patients at NHG Polyclinics.

SingHealth’s "Health Buddy" is the country’s most comprehensive health mobile application covering a wide range of medical conditions and treatments.

The app’s content is contributed by local doctors and healthcare professionals.

The application’s Queue Watch feature allows users to access from their smartphones, web cam views at SingHealth Polyclinics and hospital A&Es to check patient queues before they visit.

Its direct call and email functions make it easier for users on the move to fix appointments or send queries.

Users can also search for SingHealth specialists, institutions’ services, charges and locations, as well as the nearest GP and Community Health Assist Scheme clinics.

An upcoming enhancement to the app will add a medical alert interactive reminder for patients to take their medication.
