SINGAPORE: Singapore’s Special Envoy to Romania, Ambassador Ong Eng Chuan, will attend the next hearing in the trial of Dr Silviu Ionescu, the former Romanian Charge d’Affaires.
The Foreign Affairs Ministry said Ambassador Ong will be accompanied by a representative from the Attorney—General’s Chambers of Singapore.
The hearing will be held on Wednesday in Bucharest.
51—year—old Ionescu is on trial for two hit—and—run accidents in Singapore in 2009. The accidents left one person dead and two others injured.
