SilkAir tests news wireless inflight entertainment system
Regional airline, SilkAir, is testing a new wireless inflight entertainment system.
The technology allows passengers to stream content such as movies, television programmes and music directly onto their personal devices including laptops and smartphones.
Currently, the system is installed in one of its Airbus A320 aircraft.
Access is free.
Chief executive officer Leslie Thng said the initiative was introduced based on feedback from customers who wanted access to more inflight entertainment options on flights.
If the trial is successful, the system will be introduced across SilkAir's aircraft fleet by next year.
