SINGAPORE: Singapore Senior Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Home Affairs Masagos Zulkifli will make a six—day visit to Bangladesh, starting from Saturday.
The trip will be Mr Masagos’ first visit to the country in his official capacity.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in Dhaka, Mr Masagos will call on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, and meet Bangladeshi Foreign Affairs Minister Dr Dipu Moni, Home Affairs Minister Shahara Khatun and the Leader of the Opposition and Chairperson of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Khaleda Zia.
Mr Masagos will also have the opportunity to meet members of the local business community and the Singapore community in Dhaka.
As part of the trip, Mr Masagos will travel to Chittagong, the chief port of Bangladesh and its commercial and industrial centre, where he will meet the Mayor of Chittagong City Corporation, Manzur Alam and members of the Chittagong business community.
Mr Masagos will be accompanied by the High Commissioner (Non—Resident) of Singapore to Bangladesh Chan Heng Wing and officials from the Foreign Affairs Ministry.
