SINGAPORE: Singapore currently has 310 companies active in the renewable energy and energy efficiency industry.

This was the result of a national study conducted by the Sustainable Energy Association of Singapore (SEAS) and supported by funding from SPRING Singapore.

For the first time, the study also identified relevant industries operating along the value chains of the various sectors and the capabilities of the companies involved.

The data is available in an online portal launched on Friday.

Mr Tan Kai Hoe, Deputy Chief Executive of SPRING Singapore, announced this during the opening of SEAS’ new Jalan Bahar office in CleanTech Park on Friday.

SEAS is currently working with 19 companies and facilitating the adoption of technologies with Marina Bay Sands, Housing Development Board and other project developers.

If all the committed projects are realised, they are expected to generate S$39 million in value—added to Singapore’s GDP, as well as 245 job placements over the next three years.
