SINGAPORE: The Singapore Democratic Alliance’s (SDA’s) candidate for Punggol East, Mr Desmond Lim, will start his online rally at 6pm on Monday.

Mr Lim told reporters after meeting residents at Kangkar LRT Station in the morning that he will start with two video clips on his Facebook page.

Each clip will be between seven and 10 minutes long.

Mr Lim said he will produce at least 10 clips for his by—election campaign.

The videos, which will be in English, Malay and Chinese, will address national and local issues.

Mr Lim will also try to push his online clips to smartphones —— which will be a first for an election here.

He said: "What we are going to do next is we intend to download (the video clips) to our own smartphones. While we are moving around, we’ll appeal to residents to turn on their Bluetooth, and we will ... invite them to accept our offer to watch our online rally."

Mr Lim said he is not sure how effective these methods will be, but stressed that they are good enough as long as they help him reach out to voters.
