School placement exercise for returning Singaporean children starts
The School Placement Exercise for Returning Singaporeans or SPERS is open for registration from today for Singaporean children returning from overseas and wish to join secondary schools, junior colleges or the Millennia Institute next year.
The registration can be done online via the Education Ministry's website.
Returning Singaporean children seeking admission to Secondary 1 to 3 next year can take the SPERS tests on the 1st of October.
Those seeking admission to Pre-University can take the tests on the 20th of November.
MOE says as Secondary 4 and Pre-U 2 are national examination years, returning Singaporeans generally would not re-join at these levels.
Applicants will receive their school placement results in December.
A supplementary secondary school placement exerciese will be conducted in December for those who aren't able to return in time to take the tests in October.
Registration for this supplementary exercise will open in October.
